After graduation from Internal Medicine Residency, I worked as a primary care physician starting in 2006. However, I was forced to look for more tools to deal with my own debilitating gastrointestinal symptoms. I found helpful information by studying nutrition, supplements, and functional medicine. I then opened my own functional medicine clinic in 2016. However, challenging patient cases taught me that I needed to consider how additional factors, like dental issues, an overactive bodily stress state, personal emotional trauma, and intergenerational trauma can interfere with the healing process. This led to the current holistic approach that is utilized at Gut Mend.
